<ScnSrc> Can you tell us what your position within mVs is, what you contribute to the group and how u became a member?

<mVs> umm group prossie? and shit talker i guess, i like that name :D. Don’t really have a position. I contribute a good time, and i am the group umm spokes man and give sound and deal with certain suppliers and have done video. Pretty much name it, i gave it and i helped start it to fuck with Geremi [maVen] and fight with hls. But mainly fuck with Geremi once he was down and busted we wanted to pwn hls.

<ScnSrc> Why did you decide to mess with maven?

<mVs> Yea we knew him from many years, since he was a young lad and we knew his selling ways and wanted to call him out on it plus me and the other guy who started it had nothing better to do I guess.

<ScnSrc> Can you tell us how you go into the scene and when you started?

<mVs> umm I got in back in like 2000 or 2001 and moved quickly from music to classic movie to cam/ts/scr scene and can’t look back been around from all the great movie groups (except ctp/logistics) and the old school DEViANCE, its been a long scene life for me.

<ScnSrc> Is the scene as good as when you started?

<mVs> ehh, now its fun because the shit talking before I never got to do this but as a whole I think there are still some good rivalries which is always good with the games, scene in the fight, and us with all our fights so its still good but yea its been fun the whole time now that i think about it.

<ScnSrc> Fun because of the friendships made or the releasing the films?

<mVs> friendships the people I talk to now I will keep talking to they are good people kinda like you except scene style.

<ScnSrc> Could you tell us a little about how the group was formed?

<mVs> It was just made sitting in our old groups channel saying how we need to fuck with a group and he had a crappy supply and noone wanted to started the shits except me so him and i started it as fucking around and all the email we got was great so we kept it up till we actually had great supplies too and yea its all mvs history.

<ScnSrc> How many people make up mVs?

<mVs> i have no idea, probably not many

<mVs> because i don’t hang out in the irc channel any more and don’t know how many suppliers buddy has i think today and yesterday were first days i been in channel in a while since i do most dealings on msn.

<mVs> na, i only talk to him about it he deals with the day to day stuff for the most part my audio guys i know well so can talk to them on efnet they don’t need to be in the channel we are really spread out but it works great, safer. noone knows anyone.

<ScnSrc> Does anyone in the real world know what you do in the scene and do you know anyone who’s in the scene in real life?

<mVs> My woman does brother used to know but thinks i quit and one or two friends max i don’t go around showing it I would love to since mVs is awesome i need a mVs tattoo, but no luck on donations from shops around here i would def get it though. Apparently there were a few around here but never knew them i’d rather not tell anyone how deep i am because they will ask for leech and bug me about it.

<ScnSrc> How long do you see mVs running for? How many years are left in this group and do you think it will continue when the founders leave?

<mVs> I hope for a long time left we need a good shit talk groups, and years? I dunno depends on how long me and buddy have left in us I don’t think it will continue since me and other dude are the blood of mVs noone else has the ability to shit talk like us call people coons and spics and what not when we do call it a day, it will be sad for the scene since noone really knows how to roll like us.

<ScnSrc> Why did you want to do a Q/A with us when they rest of the scene is very tight lipped?

<mVs> umm, I been wanting to do it for a while just to get the word out there that all these p2p people can bitch and about releases but they need to wake up and help too and just quit bitching or else when we are gone, who will take the spot? if we were to quit today you think other groups will be able to step in as quick and as much?

<ScnSrc> Are you looking for people to fill the scene ranks then? Are you worried that theres not enough talented people joining the scene?

<mVs> yea i would love to have some audio cappers no so much video since thats so dangerous but people were willing to do something for the scene

<ScnSrc> What motivates you to do what you do?

<mVs> Money and fame jk, we do it because its a hobby once you do something for so long, you just keep it up. I have and many have tried to quit but we just keep coming back and its always fun, you can’t quit something that is fun.

<ScnSrc> Do you ever feel you take to many risks doing what you do? And do you ever worry about being busted?

<mVs> Yea, why i have tried to quit many times.. its really not worth it, but i don’t do it for the download or anything, I am some loser in real life, so if i can be in -GLORY in the online world I will take it and worry about being busted? Everyday but i have nothing else to do with my free time.

<ScnSrc> Do you guys use couriers or is it all automated?

<mVs> umm we have our own stuff and members who do the spreading. The option for automated is there but who really needs it? Someone is always around and yea you send to a site then to another site and just keep spreading from there it’s easy once you know routing and speeds.

<ScnSrc> Do you release everything your suppliers get you, or do you judge if its good enough quality and then decide to keep it within the group or pre?

<mVs> it depends if its worth the pre you always do it but if there are any risk, then its not worth it.

<ScnSrc> What do you mean by risk?

<mVs> Any kind of watermarks, tracking dots ya know the basic stuff.

<ScnSrc> What about on quality, if its too blurry or something?

<mVs> If its too blurry then its just not worth it and you wait for something. We try to pre decent stuff the whole time if its really bad trashbin it and let one of the shit groups do it.

<ScnSrc> Could you run us through quickly how mVs would go about releasing a typical movie?

<mVs> umm depends, we can do a sync in as little as 3 hours when we were at the peak could have audio guys every Friday / Saturday waiting for video and if everything is in time about 3hours to sync, not sure on the encode i think like 1hour or something and then pack and spread so if everything is done right, 6hours tops but most of the time its not that good since we don’t have as many audio guys and we honestly don’t push people unless we need it.

<ScnSrc> Are you ever aware that a rival group is about to pre movie that you are working on and then have to rush?

<mVs> oh yea, back in the day when we knew other groups were competing, but now its just us, how many other TS groups are out there these days..

<mVs> hookah? they actually pre shit? and constantly? pukka? they don’t do TS often, we respect them since they do good work like us and constantly but if they piss us off once they will regret it.

<ScnSrc> What is the typical software you guys use to create and compile your releases?

<mVs> i am not sure these days, since i have not actually done encoding in a while. Probably just vdub i could ask but it probably wouldn’t matter, since vdub is the best encoder.

<ScnSrc> Do you think that the scene movie ripping standards are outdated? Would you like to see them updated, and/or more regularly?

<mVs> eh, depends.. for xvid *i dont* see any change but if our encoders do that would be something for them to say.. the HD stuff is working fine, only thing that sucks is the chakra ripping, I love the fact for bluray player support but hate the 300-400MB of data that is missing from the rips

<ScnSrc> So you think the rules as the are for xvid will stay for a while?

<mVs> not sure, that would depends on everyone trying to setup but there isn’t that many who can take part in it if you think about it.. back in the day when the old tdx or what ever rules were really set in stone when classic ripping was at its primenow all the classics have been done, so not nearly as many groups out that really would have a major say so in it.. think of the major xvid groups, could easily count on both hands and probably have a few fingers left over + xvid for xbmc 4 lyfe.. leech a whole movie in 5-6minutes

<mVs> There is no real nukenet these days back in the day, nukers powers were the real deal and it mattered now since almost anyone on a nukenet channel can add/edit people just do random shit and know nothing about the way shit should be and has been for many years

<mVs> because everyone hates the king and with being the king comes a lot of complaints we love it though.

<mVs> depends if we need them yea so nothing long term? Just friends with a certain few groups and will remain that way the rest of the groups can bitch and be mad because they will never reach our status but yea we work with certain people and if we need shit from others we try to work a deal hell we would still love to get some tit shots these days so if your bird is down hook it up

<ScnSrc> Leaking of scene releases are a big problem, do you think this will ever be stopped ? Do you want it to stop (and if not, why not?), do you really think this makes the scene more ìinsecureî? (If yes, what could be done to minimize the leaks?)

<mVs> it sucks, i wish it didn’t happen, but if it didn’t i wouldn’t be here today i just wish it wasn’t so public now but with the amount of colo.us and lw.nl sites out there, shit will always be leaked in no time since a lot of the torrent sites probably pay for a leech spot somewhere and get access to it in notime

<mVs> Probably not, i just wish the torrent sites and other sites didn’t make money off others work

<ScnSrc> Whats your view on P2P? Does mVs really hate P2Pers that much as they state in their .nfos? Do you think that the rise of the P2P scene has taken a bit of the heat away from the scene, or has it just intensified the scrutiny in which you are under now?

<mVs> p2p is tough subject.. We hate it because it made piracy HUGE. Before people had to work their ass off sitting in IRC channels all day and now anyone can just get a torrent client and figure it out, but with that more people are willing to say fuck paying for movies, fuck paying for games which before it was looked at being ok because the “effect” that was small, I never used napster or torrents to download any movie except swap.avi which loop should remember about that one.. as for heat away? no, if anything its pushed it further because how many others in p2p actually have the ability to organize a video release, get the eng audio, sync it and put it up? a p2p ts are few and far between

<mVs> ehh, i don’t really care for the most part because its going to be leaked anyway.. we just don’t like the fact that people can post rapidshare links to download.. if anything the mpaa/fbi should go after those sites since they are making it easy to the public. I’ve never understood why topsites will be busted but newsgroups will always live on when the newsgroups backbone is like 100000000000000TB, and retention of 6months for anything, which is pretty much better than any site i’ve heard of if there were a way for us to pre on that, and get free access i would be all for it oh and if there were a way to get the list w/out having to update headers and shit, but ftp is the best way for that// as for scrutiny, psshh we could care less.. if media wants to give us shit they would be better off at not giving any info, if its a leecher giving shit fuck them, they can get off their ass and do it..fucking coons

<mVs> yea, do better noone has been able to yet after all our shit we say so it just shows its hard than people think which to me is the biggest compliment from them coons (yes throw coons in there)

<ScnSrc> Where do you see the scene in 5 years? Will it get more private, and only knowing someone on the inside will get you in, or will it be more public then ever?

<mVs> I honestly couldn’t tell you. I would hope movies are straight to computer and wouldn’t have to worry about a scene, and TV shows the same and people would buy the games they like tf2 and/or we will still have the African’s in NY going into cinemas and recording for us which is always good maybe their silver quality will improve by then.

<ScnSrc> Are you guys interested in or supportive of the reform of copyright and filesharing laws in places like the US/Canada/UK or are you perfectly happy to remain ìundergroundî and doing it strictly for the scene ideals?

<mVs> the what? I don’t think we keep up with the new laws, mVs are above the law
