I have this and offline singleplayer works 100%.
Needs 0 day patch to play lan, this release does not have it and it cannot be downloaded (yet).
Supposedly rediance release has it and works . . .

Here’s a LAN patch for the DEMIGOD-AVENGED release.
Works flawlessly for me, hope it does for you folks.
1. OPTIONAL: Backup your “bin” and “loc” folders and the file dgdata.zip, all of which are located in the game installation folder (default: C:\Program Files\Stardock Games\Demigod)
2. Replace the existing files with the ones in the archive.
3. Enjoy LAN/VPN play

Short Guide
Play Game
1. Download game
2. extract to ISO
3. extract the ISO to a folder
4. run the demigod.exe in the bin folder to start the game
LAN/ Online(VPN)
[NOTE] no modification of the files are needed NO LAN patch or anything to play.
1. install or run hamachi SOME VERSIONS WON’T LET YOU SEE SERVERS! (I use 1.0.1.3 my 1.0.3.0 didn’t work)
2. join servers (I had to google for good servers.)
3. start game and go to multiplayer then LAN
4. Join game and play
Servers
The servers I found that had plenty of people to lay with at the time of this posting were DEMIGOD EUROX, DEMIGOD LANX just repalce X with a number 1 through however high (starting at one and working your way to not full servers.) and passwors are almost always demigod or demi ……eg. Server:DEMIGOD EURO1 Password:demigod or Server:DEMIGOD EURO2 Password: demigod …ect)
if you get a get EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION during the game try reinstall game or different version eg RADIANCE (ppl said that didn’t crash for them) or might be a 64 bit OS incompatability.
Never got an error single player only in server with more than 2 ppl

with this release so I am getting RADIANCE version to see if that helps(ppl I played with on hamachi had that one.) That LAN PATCH 1ns0mn14 posted didn’t do anything(I think it is useless.) Not saing tAVENGED made a bad version but it doesn’t work for me and that error came up with ppl using vista a lot apperently. I didn’t really see the problem in XP but I’m using 64 bit XP and I’ll bet the error for those in vista were using 64 bit versions as well…
P.S. Get a different version of hamachi if you can’t see the servers on the list. 1.0.1.3 worked for me but people I was with said 1.0.1.5 was more stable(no game patch needed.) and watch the ping cause you CAN play with 1300 ping(i did with someone) and you wont see rubberbanding BUT it will freeze the game untill the high ping player can catch up so studders.

The AVENGED release installs an earlier game version, in which you only see the option “Internet” under “Multiplayer”… It prompts the user to download the latest patch in order to be able to use multiplayer, and when you confirm that you want to download the patch it prompts for a CD-Key/
What my patch does is it replaces the files included in the AVENGED release with more up-to-date ones, taken from the RADiANCE release (which seems to be the same game version as the DEViSE version)
The LAN patch is needed only for the AVENGED version!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I couldn’t get the patch to work with my Avenged Demigod. What I mean is I COULD see and get into the LAN option but I couldn’t see any games while playing on hamachi even though they were the same versions after the patch. I tried differn’t versions but that didn’t work this is the first time I’ve had trouble with hamachi.
I installed everything by extracting the zip into the main folder and extracting and overwriting everything.
PS Sorry for the spelling or any grammer mistakes I’ve typed this up twice now seeing I didn’t enter my email the first time and it deleted my entire message.

Blasz, I’m sorry man, this is more of a 4chan phrase.
I just wonder how you had a “LAN” option in the multiplayer menu on the AVENGED release
without replacing the files with the updated ones. Isn’t LAN support written in the changelog
of that patch?
I’m sorry folks, I didn’t get to try it out on hamachi
and till now my only attempts to actually test the files
were on Garena… where it’s not officially supported.
I’ll try looking if I missed some file that is updated too…

@robertrulez: what do you mean you had to “move some files”?
If you are claiming that something doesn’t work be more specific.
By the way comments on other places this landed indicate that it works for all people.
I did a full check with WinMerge and it confirmed that all files that are different in the RADiANCE release are the ones included in the “patch” (except some extra language files and the updated game readme).
@Blasz: If you read CAREFULLY what “the person who posted right after me” said you’ll see he actually said: I couldn’t *GET* the patch *TO WORK* with my Avenged Demigod. (**so he installed it, but didn’t get LAN to work**) What I mean is I COULD see and get into the LAN option (**he means after applying the patch of course**) but I couldn’t see any games while playing on hamachi……. There aren’t any “ghost stories” on PCs so please don’t tell me you had a LAN button from start when NOBODY else with the AVENGED release had one

Okay I see wat he said that he did install it but didn’t work. Thanks for the clarification and thanks for the apology. I reinstalled the AVENGED to see maybe what I did but I can still use LAN… It still crashed on me so I’m sticking with RADiANCE but I have no idea what I did to it UNLESS the torrent I got was already patched. Which seems very possible but not at all likely. I just suguesst that people get a different vesion but considering there was a patch .93 over all the current releases .91 I suspect we will see more versions around soon.
LOL I think no DRM is the best protection the game makers can use these days. When there is little to crack people who hate DRM buy the game more and those who don’t get flooded with a million incompatable versions that everyone releases because it is easier to crack
PS GameRanger is a really good way to find matches for this and a few other games. Way better than Hamachi in my experence. Try it.

maybe you are right man. All I remember is I let Impulse update,
and when I went ingame it said there’s a new patch out and you have to download it in order to further be able to play online (on the official servers of course).
Then I went to the Multiplayer menu and only the “Internet” option was available.
Now I bought the original game anyways, I just have a try before I buy policy
and if I like a game (and see the devs are not lazy, accept feedback
and bring out patches) then I support them and give my five cents for the effort
and because it’s worth it.
