It’s clever, the soundtrack is fun with different tracks for every time period, the voice announcing what weapon you picked up changes depending on what era you’re in, and –- most importantly –- it’s great to jump in and play for a bit.

I wish it was longer, and perhaps it is a one-trick pony (i.e. kill all this stuff over and over), but it’s a great trick and PSP owners should have no qualms paying for it. Sorry I’m a bit late with this one, but I thought it was worth mentioning! Courtesy of NRP.

What’s great about Fat Princess: Fistful of Cake is that it contains the entirety of the original game (for PS3), as well as 50 percent more content. This applies to the story mode as well as the multiplayer, so expect a whole lot of new things to play with if you get this version. Single player, which many people complained was just a tutorial for the multiplayer in the PS3 version, has now been doubled in size with more plot elements and gameplay.
Description: Sound the trumpets: Fat Princess brings its comical medieval fun to PSP with a host of added features. Franticly-paced and strategic, Fat Princess: Fistful of Cake pits two hordes of players against each other in comic medieval battle royale on PSP. The player’s goal is to rescue a beloved princess from the enemy castle. There is a catch, though; the adversary has been feeding her magical cake to make her heavier to carry. Therefore, it will take much of the army working together to carry her across the battlefield.

Team balance and strategy is crucial in Fat Princess: Fistful of Cake, as players can switch between five different character classes literally at the drop of a hat. The name of the game is cooperation, whether it is flinging another player over the enemy’s walls with a teeterboard, healing him while he charges into battle, or adding muscle to carry the hearty princess to safety. The comical, quirky and loveable cast of characters in Fat Princess: Fistful of Cake has been developed specifically for optimization on PSP. Now players can have their cake, and take it on the go, too.

Description: This is an action game in which players defeat ninjas that spring up from under mats by throwing hammers at them. The gameplay is similar to traditional “whack-a-mole” mechanics, as players are rewarded as much for their quick reflexes as their hammer-throwing prowess. When ninjas are hit, they will grunt loudly as a bright burst appears at the point of impact.

Description: While everything is calm on the surface, the world of Lunar is slowly devolving into chaos. The legendary Dragonmaster Dyne and his faithful companions have faded into obscurity only to have a shadowy figure known as the Magic Emperor begin to wreak havoc on the world created by the Goddess Althena. Meanwhile, in a small, humble village far removed from the turmoil in Lunar, lives a young man named Alex. As one who idolizes the legendary Dyne, Alex dreams of one day becoming the next Dragonmaster and matching the accomplishments of his life-long hero. Egged on by his childhood friend Ramus and with his adopted sister Luna in tow, Alex heads off on what seems to be a meaningless adventure, unaware that it would be the first step in an epic journey with the fate of the entire world at stake.

Description: The Eye of Judgment brings fast-paced virtual card battles to PSP. All the action takes place on the PSP itself, so there’s no need for extra peripherals such as a camera or physical cards, making this a fun and accessible game for players of all skill levels. The Eye of Judgement: Portable features a brand new single player story created exclusively for the PSP version, which challenges you to defeat rival characters while traveling around the magical EOJ world. Battles take place using digital on-screen cards, and as the adventure progresses, players can acquire new abilities by building their digital card collection. The ultimate goal is to obtain sufficient cards and special powers to confront and defeat Scion, Biolith Lord in a final showdown.

Extended Description:
THE EYE OF JUDGMENT LEGENDS on the PSP packs a vast world of magic, mystery and battles into the palm of your hands. At its heart are more than 300 digital trading cards, over 30 of which are brand new to the franchise! What makes it even more portable is that the card collecting experience from the PS3 hit has been streamlined, no longer requiring the PlayStation Eye peripheral nor physical cards to be carried along with you. The PSP version’s digital cards can be earned by playing through the game, traded wirelessly from one PSP to another, won in battle with friends and enemies, and even bought from the PlayStation Store in future downloadable content releases. Each card features a monster, dragon, mage or mythical warrior with their own special skills ready to do battle against your opponent, and some cards are rare to come across. However, players must carefully choose among the cards they have collected to compile their ultimate deck. The cards are not lifeless images – these creatures come to life on screen springing out of their card and into attack, battling real time as they hack, slash and cast spells on each other. Deploy the right creatures from your deck to defeat your opponent and secure victory!

Description: Shattered Memories marks Silent Hill’s debut on the Nintendo Wii where the fear is more real than ever before. Players will be drawn into the mysterious town using the Wii Remote as a flashlight and a cell phone as they search for clues. Also available on the PS2 and PSP, Shattered Memories promises to be more terrifying than ever. The choices the players make will shape Harry Mason, as well as the people he meets and the places he visits. The enemies evolve as well, taking the form of the player’s deepest fears.

From the murky fog to the ominous shadows, all-new next generation graphics bring Silent Hill to life

An all-new enhanced combat system gives you a wide array of attacks, counter-attacks and dodges, along with more items to use as weapons

Featuring a brand new soundtrack by acclaimed series composer Akira Yamaoka

Shattered Memories is an adventure game riddled with a host of disturbing themes, not least of which is the fact that the town is caught in the grip of a snow storm, most of its inhabitants are missing, and dreadful monsters periodically scream from icy formations. The nightmarish and disorienting storyline is surrounded by high production values, from detailed character models whose bodies and faces animate fluidly to strong voice acting and a moody and dynamic soundtrack by series composer Akira Yamaoka.

Description: Metal Slug XX for PSP system is the new addition to the famed Metal Slug series that captures all the glory of the arcade experience and more. Classic Metal Slug characters return to take on General Morden and his new and improved Rebel Army. With its unmistakable style and personality, nostalgic gameplay, 70 unlockable missions, and the ability to play with a friend, it is the definitive portable Metal Slug experience.

The three new vehicles are:

Slug Truck: A train-like machine that works similar to the Metal Slug, except that a cannon must be connected to the unit to access its secondary weapon. You can have up to four cannons connected, and they have unlimited ammo, but they are destroyed with a single shot.

Slug Gigant: The Slug Gigant is a giant robot that is capable of massive firepower. Pressing the secondary fire button fires its wave cannon, which neutralizes enemy fire, and throws a punch with its claws. Aiming its gun all the way down causes it to claw enemies on the ground. However, its primary weapon is the standard Vulcan. It has more health than most slugs, and if it is destroyed, the player loses a life and respawns in a new Slug Gigant. Because of this invincibility, it will survive to fight the boss of the level it is in.

Heavy Armor: Has both vulcan and cannon. Can slide at high speed by holding D-pad down and a direction. Referred to in the manual as the Slug Gunner.

Half-Minute Hero is basically a collection of four gameplay modes that revolve around one of four characters — the Hero, the Princess, the Knight, and the Evil Lord. These tales span hundreds of years, but they are all connected by the fact that the Ultimate Evil is back and trying to end the world; it’ll be up to you and these characters to stop the bad men.

If you like RPGs, Half-Minute Hero is a refreshing take that mixes in all the quirks the genre is known for, and if you’ve never been into RPGs, it’s light enough for any noob to get behind and enjoy; plus, there are a bunch of other gameplay types to get behind the controls of. I think there’s a stumble here in presentation and there in clarity, but none of that detracts from making this a great portable game that PSP owners should seriously give a shot.

Description: ARMY OF TWO: THE 40th DAY for the PSP finds Rios and Salem inside a man-made disaster of epic proportions in Shanghai, China. Fortunately for you, you’ve got a bigger playbook of features and a new arsenal of co-op moves that either player can perform at any time, opening up fresh strategies and choices for both players. You’ve also got the tools you need to help the Army of Two fight and prevail with an advanced weapon customization and upgrade system.

Just like the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of Army of Two: The 40th Day, the PSP version keeps the focus on co-operative play. You’ll follow the same story arch and be forced to make difficult life-or-death decisions when encountering dilemmas presented by morality moments. However, despite the similarities, the PSP version of Army of Two: The 40th Day is no mere port. It is being developed from the ground up specifically for the PSP with a more arcade feel.

Co-op playbook

Army of Two: The 40th Day expands on and refines the cooperative play featured in the original game. Unlike in the original where cooperative moments were primarily predetermined at particular intervals in the game, in this sequel, players can use co-op moves at any time. The playbook allows players to scan enemies prior to engaging them in order to set up particular team-based tactics. For example, players can mock surrender or setup simultaneous sniper shots. This is in addition to using aggro as a mechanic for tactically engaging enemies in the midst of combat.

Aggro

Aggro is a system that allows two players to tactically control the target of their enemy’s attacks. Aggro is measured by a HUD element that displays which player the enemy characters are currently focusing on. By performing aggressive actions, such as firing one’s weapon, a player generates aggro and in turn causes enemies to focus more of their attention on that player. While one player has aggro the other is being ignored and as a result can then freely perform actions such as flanking. In Army of Two: The 40th Day, additional non-aggressive actions can affect aggro. For example, by performing a mock-surrender the enemy combatants will focus all of their attention (and aggro) on the player that is surrendering.

Morality moments

In Army of Two: The 40th Day players are forced to make moral decisions that affect the story of the game. At pre-determined points in the game players will be presented with a choice, for example whether they should overtake a security guard and steal weapons or vacate the premises. The decision is not a vote between two players. but instead either player must decide while the other player is forced to accept the ramifications of that decisions regardless of what their preference was. The outcome and presentation of these morality moments takes the form of comic panels created by the popular artists Chris Bachalo and Jock.

Description: Assassin’s Creed: Bloodlines on PSP is the first Assassin’s Creed game on the PSP. It follows the story of Altair right after the events of Assassin’s Creed as Altair tracks down the last Templars who fled the Holy Land and retreated to the Island of Cyprus.

Dynamic Locomotion – Like the next-gen SKUs, Altair on the PSP reacts to the terrain fluidly, diving through holes and climbing ledges with only the creative application of the Free Run button.

Tremendous Visuals – Altair and his environments are beautifully rendered to maximize the PSP’s visual capabilities.

PS3 Connectivity – Collect Templar Coins and Treasures on the PSP, connect to your PS3, and share value across both SKUs. Additionally, as players unlock Health and Weapons upgrades in Assassin’s Creed 2 PS3, the same upgrade will be unlocked in Assassin’s Creed: Bloodlines PSP.

Description: When their world begins to run out of Eco, Jak and Keira travel to the edge of the world in search of the ancient Precursor machinery that could reverse the planet’s decline. They’re not the only interested factions out on the Brink, however; Jak must contend with Sky Pirates while struggling to control his own Eco powers.

The dynamic duo Jak and Daxter are back in an all-new adventure on PSP and PS2 that picks up the action where the previous trilogy left off.

Jak and Daxter’s planet is slowly dying due to a lack of Light Eco. To save the day, our heroes team up with their old friend Keira in search of the ancient Precursor machinery that will prevent their planet’s demise.

Whether battling Sky Pirates in a customisable aircraft or blasting Aeropeans with the punishing Gunstaff weapon, Jak and Daxter’s journey will take them beyond the edge of the Brink – and into a war bigger than they ever could have imagined.

• Navigate through new zones in the air and on land

• Get to grips with new Eco powers and go on the rampage with a sinister Dark Power

• Wreak destruction with the Gunstaff: a new weapon that also transforms into the Shockwave Concussor, Blaster, Vulcan Fury and Peace Maker
