Synopsis: Jaume Balaguero and Paco Plaza return to scare the pants off of audiences once again with this follow-up to their Spanish chiller [REC], which centered on a trapped TV news crew in a quarantined apartment building whose inhabitants are infected with a virus that turns them homicidal.

Here it is, for the first time on BluRay. I recommend this to any horror/ psychological horror fan out there. Great performances, and a great story, and I can recall at least 2 scenes that really stuck with me. Said to have had influence on the likes of the Silent Hill series and others. The quality looks amazing and I can’t wait to watch it in HD this time around.

The film offers impressive and compelling performances by Pena, Aiello (no ordinary chiropractor), and Ving Rhames and Eriq La Salle (the latter of ER) as Jacob’s comrades from Vietnam. Macaulay Culkin appears uncredited as Jacob’s young son, Gabe. Director Lyne also guides an unerring interpretation of Bruce Joel Rubin’s screenplay in Robbins’s powerfully restless, searingly searching performance as Jacob; brilliant editing additionally rounds out this engrossing, disturbing film. JACOB’S LADDER is a jolting experience that is not easily forgotten.
